Hi, hello!

My name is Shara Tran...

I'm a Narrative Designer and Game Writer located in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Growing up, I've always been fascinated by fairytales and their dualistic nature of being both cautionary tales that warn of danger but also inspiring stories of hope and heroism. It is these fairytales that inspire a lot of my work to this day.

As a Narrative Designer, I craft worlds, characters, and lore that digs into fundamental questions of what it means to be human - What drives us? What compels us? What does it mean to be a hero or a villain?

As a Game Writer, I search for a voice that fits each character's unique worldview and backstory, so that each NPC or item description plays its role in developing the greater world story.

I am a storyteller who enjoys games that are dark and gritty but tempered by hope and where the narrative reminds us that in moments of darkness, believing in yourself is the first step toward finding the light again, but it is through hard decisions spurred by interesting choices that we define what is darkness and what is hope.

BEGONE BEAST is a spooky cooperative top-down action game for 1-4 players with spooky vibes and a cozy atmosphere that's meant to make you laugh and scream as your worst nightmares come to life!

As the lone Narrative Designer, my responsibilities are developing the lore, worldbuilding, narrative direction, and character stories under the guidance of the Studio's CEO.

Chapters Interactive is a choice-based narrative mobile game where players get to decide what their story will be.

My responsibilities are leading a team of game writers to develop a cohesive storyline and establish premium and free choices that enhance gameplay, working with the art team to ensure that the game's visual style is consistent with the narrative, and working with the marketing team to ensure that each game reaches the proper target audience demographics.
